Safe screenshots for AI and support

Share the screen.
Not the secret.

Before you paste a terminal, dashboard, code, or support screenshot into ChatGPT, Codex, Claude, or another AI, remove emails, customer data, internal URLs, tokens, and API keys. SlateVeil processes screenshot pixels locally and does not upload them for editing or OCR. Ordinary hosting and security requests plus bounded aggregate event and campaign labels may still occur.

Automatic detection is a first pass. You approve every mark before export.

Use Solid for secrets. Blur and pixelation are visual obfuscation only and may preserve recoverable detail. Keyboard marking: focus the canvas, press Space, resize with arrows, move with Shift + arrows, and press Enter.

Custom detection rules PRO

Plain terms match exactly. Characters such as ., +, [, and ] are treated as text, not pattern syntax.

Advanced expressions use JavaScript regular-expression syntax. Terms and expressions stay in this browser; SlateVeil never transmits them.

Saved presets

Keep format, scale, custom terms, advanced expressions, and the active editing tool together on this device.

PRO

Presets never sync or leave this browser. Clearing site data removes them.

01

Bring the image

Paste from the clipboard, choose a file, or drop a batch of screenshots.

02

Mark what leaves

Use solid redaction for secrets. Visual-only blur and pixelation remain available for non-sensitive presentation work.

03

Export flat pixels

The clean file is freshly rendered, so original metadata and editable overlays are gone.

Built for AI handoffs

Paste the context. Leave the credentials behind.

Debug with an assistant

Share the terminal error or dashboard state an AI needs without also sharing the token, email, hostname, or customer record beside it.

Avoid preventable warnings

An assistant or platform may warn about sensitive credentials after they are pasted. The safer workflow is to remove them before the image enters any chat.

Keep useful visual context

Redact only the private regions, flatten the export, then paste the clean screenshot into the AI or support conversation you intended.

Built for real work

01

Terminal captures

Hide tokens, internal hosts, usernames, and paths before posting an issue.

02

Support tickets

Remove customer contact details and identifiers before escalating a case.

03

Product demos

Clean dashboards, staging URLs, notifications, and workspace names before sharing.

04

Documentation

Flatten safe example images without sending unreleased interfaces to another service.

Designed for the awkward screenshot

A privacy tool should not need your private image.

Local by architecture

Screenshot pixels, filenames, OCR text, redaction geometry, and custom rules stay on your device. The app sends bounded aggregate events and campaign labels; hosting providers may process ordinary request and security data.

Flattened, not covered

Every export is a new raster image. Redactions are baked into the pixels instead of sitting on a removable layer.

Review stays human

Detection can miss unusual formats. You see and approve every proposed box before you share the result.

Straight answers

Why redact before pasting a screenshot into AI?

A screenshot can contain API keys, tokens, emails, customer details, internal URLs, or workspace names outside the part you want help with. Remove those pixels first instead of relying on a warning after the image reaches a chat.

Does SlateVeil upload my screenshot?

No screenshot pixels, filenames, OCR text, or redaction geometry are uploaded for editing, OCR, or analytics. SlateVeil sends bounded aggregate event names and campaign labels; hosting providers may process ordinary request and security data, and Stripe handles checkout and activation data when you buy.

Can automatic detection guarantee everything is removed?

No. OCR and pattern detection are suggestions. You must review the proposed regions and the final exported image.

What happens if I replace a device?

Save the app-issued recovery key shown after purchase. It can activate a clean browser, list your three personal device slots, and release an old slot. SlateVeil stores only one-way hashes of recovery and device credentials.

Is this a subscription?
